Bone Joint J. 2014 Nov;96-B(11):1459-63109 patients (120 hips) were randomized to undergo cementless total hip arthroplasty using 32mm or 28mm ceramic-on-ceramic bearings. The purpose of this trial was to compare clinical outcomes, radiological results, and complications between bearing sizes. No instances of ceramic bearing fractures, squeaking, loosening, or osteolysis occurred, and no statistically significant differences in complication rates or clinical outcomes were observed up to five years post-surgery.
