Arthroscopy. 2014 Dec;30(12):1616-1624.

Five level I and II RCTs, with a total of 504 patients (374 males and 130 females) with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture who had undergone ACL reconstruction, were analyzed in this systematic review and meta-analysis. The purpose of this study was to compare outcomes between procedures completed with a hamstring autograft vs. a -tissue allograft. There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of clinical outcome measures (Lysholm score, IKDC, and Tegner), ACL laxity measures (including the Lachman test, KT-1000, and pivot-shift test), and reoperations between the two groups for patients undergoing ACL reconstruction.
