Comparative efficacy of CDA and ACDF in treatment of cervical disc disease
Arch Orthop Trauma Surg. 2015 Jan;135(1):19-28Eighteen randomized controlled trials were included in this analysis investigating the efficacy of cervical disc arthroplasty (CDA) and anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) in patients with cervical disc disease. No significant differences were observed in pooled analyses of blood loss, length of hospital stay, and neck and arm pain scores. CDA was associated with significantly greater range of motion at the operated level, along with reduced rates of adverse events and secondary surgery. ACDF was associated with a significantly shorter operative time.
