40 patients undergoing single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction were randomized to be operated upon using the modified transtibial technique or the anteromedial portal technique. The purpose of this study was to understand if clinical outcomes and anatomic placement of the femoral tunnel were similar between the modified transtibial technique and anteromedial portal techniques. The results indicated that both groups displayed similar clinical outcomes and anatomic femoral tunnel placement following surgery. Moreover, the coronal obliquity and mean tunnel size was greater in patients who underwent modified transtibial single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
