Osteoarthritis
Progressive strength training not superior for functional rehabilitation following TKA
Arthritis Care Res (Hoboken). 2014 Dec;66(12):1856-66.

82 patients who had undergone unilateral primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were randomized to either a group which underwent supervised physical rehabilitation with progressive strength training (PST), or a group which did the same without PST. This was done to assess the effect of PST on knee functional performance following fast-track TKA. Patients' functional performance was measured using a 6-minute walk test preoperatively and again at 4, 8, and 26 weeks postoperatively. Results indicated that physical rehabilitation with PST was not significantly superior to physical rehabilitation without PST in increasing functional performance following TKA.
