22 studies, which included a total of 2280 participants with lateral epicondylitis, were analyzed in this meta-analysis with the purpose of comparing the effectiveness of conservative treatments to no treatment. Outcomes of interest included overall improvement, need for escape interventions, outcome scores, and improved grip strength over intermediate follow-up. The results revealed that when compared to observation or placebo groups, nonsurgical treatments did not offer outcome benefits. Additionally, patients in the no treatment group were less likely to require outside consultation.
