Valgus bracing effective compared to other conservative treatment of knee osteoarthritis

6 studies were used to determine the pain reduction and functional improvement gained from valgus knee bracing in comparison to no or alternate orthosis. Results of meta-analysis suggested valgus bracing was significantly favoured over control treatment with no orthosis for pain and function outcomes, and over control treatment with alternative orthosis therapy for pain outcome. No significant difference was found when specifically comparing functional improvement of valgus braces to alternate orthoses.
