Vitamin C reduces incidence of complex regional pain syndrome after distal radius fracture

Four randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis to determine the efficacy of vitamin C in prevention of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) after distal radius fracture. A total of 810 patients were identified from the selected studies. Results indicated that vitamin C significantly reduced the incidence of CRPS as compared to a placebo/control.
