ISAKOS 2015: Similar effects of hyaluronic acid w/ varying average molecular weight in OA
40 patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) were randomized to be treated with either the 900,000-average molecular weight (AMW) hyaluronic acid (HA) product (Artz, Seikagaku Corp.) or the 1,900,000-AMW HA product (Suvenyl, Chugaiseiyaku Corp.) The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy and safety of injection of hyaluronan products with different average molecular weights. Findings of this study showed no outcome differences between the 900,000-AMW HA product or the 1,900,000-AMW HA product.
