52 patients who underwent primary anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, with or without partial meniscectomy were randomized to either receive or not receive kinesiology taping postoperatively. The purpose of the study was to determine the efficacy of kinesiology taping in reducing pain, knee swelling, and improving knee function and range of motion over 6 weeks follow-up. Results indicated that kinesiology taping may not be beneficial in reducing knee swelling, pain, or in improving knee function scores or range of motion following primary ACL reconstruction, as compared to the control group.
