COA 2015: STG tendon harvest decreases knee flexor strength in ACL reconstruction
18 patients were randomized to receive a semitendinosus and gracilis (STG) tendon graft from the operative limb, or the contralateral limb for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The goal of this study was to determine the effect of hip position on knee flexor strength. Results of this study found that using the STG from the operative limb had a negative impact on knee flexor strength.
