508 patients with early rheumatoid arthritis were randomized to receive treatment with sequential monotherapy, step-up combination therapy, initial combination therapy with prednisone, or initial combination therapy with infliximab. The purpose of this study was to determine whether initial effects of these combination therapies were retained at a 2-year follow-up. Results at the 2 year follow up period indicated that similar clinical outcomes were observed between all four treatment strategies.
