SPINE
Loxoprofen and celecoxib similar for postoperative analgesia after spinal surgery
J Orthop Sci. 2015 Jul;20(4):617-23

141 patients scheduled to undergo spinal surgery were randomized to receive either loxoprofen sodium or celecoxib for postoperative analgesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of the two nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) using a numeric rating scale (NRS) to evaluate pain. Postoperative pain was measured 9 times a day for 7 consecutive days. Results demonstrated quicker efficacy in loxoprofen compared to celecoxib, with improvement in NRS scores greater at 30 minutes and 2 hours after each administration. Nevertheless, mean daily and maximum daily NRS scores were non-significantly different between groups.
