87 patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty were randomized to receive either single-shot adductor canal block (SACB) or continuous adductor canal block (CACB). The purpose of this study was to compare postoperative pain and muscle function between these two groups over a 2 day follow-up period. CACB was associated with significantly lower pain scores compared to the SACB group over the first 2 postoperative days. No statistically significant differences in postoperative function were noted between groups.
