62 patients undergoing ACL reconstruction were randomized to receive either interference screws or cross pins for graft fixation. The purpose of the study was to compare knee function and laxity, as well as the degree of osteoarthritis and tunnel widening at 5 years post-op to determine if either method was advantageous. Results indicated that there were no significant differences in clinical or radiological outcomes between the two fixation techniques, when assessed after 5 years.
