Effect of individualized home-based exercise on falls in community-dwelling elderly
Maturitas. 2015 Sep;82(1):72-84

12 studies analyzing the efficacy of individualized, home-based exercise programs targeted for fall risk reduction in patients over 60 years old and living in the community were included. The purpose of this study was to determine how effective individualized exercise programs are at reducing the incidence/risk of falling and improving physical performance. Results indicated no significant difference between a home based program and control treatment at 12 months in terms of fall incidence or the incidence of injuries/fractures requiring medical attention. However, sensitivity analysis indicated a significantly lower number of fallers in the exercise group.
