40 patients with acute, closed, unstable ligamentous Lisfranc injuries were randomized to receive either steel or bioabsorbable screws for fixation. The purpose of the study was to compare long-term clinical and radiological outcomes of the two screw types. Results demonstrated that the screw types offered similar efficacy in the treatment of these injuries, with respect to function, pain, and radiographical outcomes.
