Effect of whole body vibration on pain, stiffness, and function in knee OA treatment
Clin Rehabil. 2015 Oct;29(10):939-515 randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis for the purpose of assessing the effects of whole body vibration on pain, stiffness, and function in patients with knee osteoarthritis. The results showed that whole body vibration did not significantly reduce pain or stiffness at both 8 and 12 week treatment lengths in comparison to control interventions. However, whole body vibration significantly improved physical function assessed via the WOMAC in both 8 and 12 week treatment lengths, and significantly improved walking and balance in 12 week treatment lengths.
