Prosthetic replacement vs. ORIF: Improved outcomes of Mason III radial head fracture
Orthop Traumatol Surg Res. 2015 Oct;101(6):729-349 studies (2 randomized controlled trials, 7 controlled clinical trials) comparing prosthetic replacement (PR) to open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) for treatment of Mason III classified radial head fractures were included in this meta-analysis. The purpose of the study was to compare clinical outcomes between the two surgical methods. Pooled analysis found PR to result in significantly better post-operative excellent and good rates, Borberg and Morrey scores, and post-operative complication rates compared to ORIF surgery.
