OARSI 2016: Efficacy & safety of Hyaluronan with/without Botox for patellar tendinopathy
120 patients with patellar tendinopathy were randomized to either Hyaluronan, botulinum toxin, or placebo injections. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of Hyaluronan alone or with botulinum toxin would be efficacious and safe in comparison to saline placebo injections. Findings indicated that hyaluronan alone or with botulinum toxin injections significantly improved in the Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment-patella score, whereas placebo injections reported no improvements.
