120 patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) for knee osteoarthritis (OA) were randomized to receive either a 7-layer coated implant compared to standard implant. The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical results of coated implants versus standard, uncoated implants. Findings indicated that both implant groups were comparable for improvement in Oxford Knee Scores over 4 year follow-up.
