No benefit of adjunct kinesio taping to physical therapy for low back pain
J Orthop Sports Phys Ther. 2016 Jul;46(7):506-13.

148 patients with low back pain were randomized to receive physical and manual therapy with or without kinesio tape application. The purpose of this study was to determine if the addition kinesio taping resulted in significantly greater improvements in pain, disability, perceived effect, and patient satisfaction when compared to physical/manual therapy alone. Results revealed that differences between groups for all outcomes of interest were non-significant when assessed at 5 weeks (end of therapy sessions), and at 3 and 6 months post-treatment, suggesting that the addition of kinesio taping had no significant clinical benefit.
