A comparison between computer assisted and conventional methods for TKA

208 patients undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were recruited for this study. Patients were randomized to undergo TKA using either computer navigational assistance or conventional instrumentation to align the components. At 12 months follow-up, there were no clinically relevant improvements in radiographic alignment, when the computer assisted group was compared to the conventional instrumentation method.
