ISAKOS2017: Quadruple-stranded hamstring tendon vs patellar tendon autografts in ACL reconstruction

Nineteen studies were included in this meta-analysis comparing outcomes following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction between four-stranded hamstring tendon autografts and patellar tendon autografts. No significant differences in re-rupture rate, functional scores, and knee laxity were observed. Analyses on anterior knee pain, kneeling pain, and extension deficit favoured the four-stranded hamstring tendon autograft.
