ADVANCE medial-pivot system offers similar 9-year survivorship to cemented TKA designs
Bone Joint Res. 2014 Oct;3(10):297-304.Eight studies (3 retrospective cohort, 3 prospective cohort, 2 prospective randomized; n=1146 knees) were included in this systematic review/meta-analysis investigating mid- to long-term outcomes of total knee arthroplasty with the ADVANCE medial-pivot total knee system (MicroPort Orthopaedics Inc.). Survivorship data over 9-years was compared between the ADVANCE system and all other cemented designs in the National Joint Registry of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, and revision data was compared to the Australian Orthopaedic Association National Joint Replacement Registry. 9-year survivorship was similar between the ADVANCE system and other cemented designs, with potentially increased survivorship in the mid-term (4-6 years). Revision rate was low with the ADVANCE total knee system.
