J Arthroplasty. 2016 Jan;31(1):156-6168 hips undergoing total hip arthroplasty were randomized to either press-fit only, press-fit plus screws, press fit plus pegs, or press-fit hydroxyapatite-coated cups. The purpose of this study was to provide a comparison of stability, wear and complication cup fixation with and without augmentation over a long-term follow-up. The findings of this study indicated no differences in stability, wear and clinical outcomes between the different augmentation techniques and press-fit alone.
