40 patients with a symptomatic partial supraspinatus tear were randomized to receive a subacromial injection of either platelet-rich plasma or corticosteroid (triamcinolone acetonide). The purpose of this study was to compare clinical, functional, and radiological outcomes at 6-week, 12-week, and 6-month follow-up between groups. Results demonstrated significantly higher scores consistently across functional outcome measures in favour of PRP versus corticosteroid at 12 weeks, but no significant differences in outcome measures at 6 months.
