Dabigatran: potential higher risk of acute coronary event compared to other anticoagulants

In this meta-analysis, 7 studies (30,514 participants with atrial fibrillation (AF)) reporting the risk of developing myocardial infarction (MI) or acute coronary syndrome (ACS) from the use of dabigatran etexilate were evaluated. In comparison to warfarin, enoxaparin, or placebo, results indicated that dabigatran was associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction (MI) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
