58 patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) were randomized to either Sativex or placebo. Patients were assessed over 5 weeks of treatment. Significant improvements in pain and quality of sleep were found in patients that received Sativex compared to those that received placebo. No effect was found on morning stiffness. No patients in Sativex group versus two patients in the placebo group experienced severe adverse effects.
