157 patients undergoing anatomic double-bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction were randomized to undergo the procedure using either a fresh frozen hamstring allograft or a hamstring autograft to determine if there were differences in knee laxity, function, and alternative outcomes over a 4-year follow-up. The results at final follow-up indicated there were no differences in KT-2000 side-to-side knee laxity between the groups. Additionally, there were no differences in other measures of stability such as the pivot shift, anterior drawer, and Lachman laxity tests. IKDC categorizations, IKDC subjective scores, and Cincinnati scores were similar between the two groups and activity measured using the Tegner and Lysholm scores did not differ significantly between the two groups.
