70 patients with subacromial impingement syndrome (SAIS) were randomized to receive either high-intensity laser therapy (HILT) treatment or ultrasound (US) treatment. This study compared the short term effectiveness of these two treatments in reducing SAIS pain. The results from this trial indicated that HILT provided greater reductions in pain and improvements in articular movement when compared to the treatment with US.
