16 studies (2643 knees) were selected for inclusion in this meta-analysis for the purpose of determining whether high-flexion prostheses were superior to conventional prostheses after total knee arthroplasty, in terms of clinical outcomes and range of motion. Results indicated that high-flexion implants offered significantly greater knee range of motion postoperatively, but but did significantly improve functional outcome scores relative to standard implants. .
