Kinesio Taping unable to reduce swelling in athletes with acute lateral ankle sprain
J Physiother. 2015 Jan;61(1):28-33.36 athletes with a lateral ankle sprain were randomized to receive either a specific Kinesio Taping application for 3 days or a sham Kinesio Taping intervention to determine whether the treatment effectively reduced swelling during the acute phase of the ankle sprain. The results indicated that there was no significant decrease in the volume of the affected ankles in the Kinesio Taping intervention group compared to the control group as measured by volumetry and perimetry after 3 and 15 days.
