Nabilone reduces pain and improves sleep and quality of life in diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain
Pain. 2012 Oct;153(10):2073-82. https://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.pain.2012.06.02426 adults with diabetic neuropathic pain were randomized to receive either oral nabilone (a synthetic cannabinoid) or placebo for 5 weeks. The primary outcome was the average daily pain score, and secondary outcomes included sleep, anxiety, depression, treatment satisfaction, and quality of life. Results demonstrated that nabilone was more effective than placebo for reducing pain, improving sleep, and improving quality of life.
