Seven randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis investigating the effect of glucagon-like peptide (GLP)-1 receptor agonists on bone fracture incidence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The purpose was to determine if treatment with GLP-1 receptor agonists led to a significantly lower rate of bone fracture when compared to either placebo or other antidiabetic drugs. Pooled results on fracture incidence demonstrated no significant difference between GLP-1 receptor agonists and comparators.
