NSAIDs reduce pain in the short-term when used to treat patients with knee osteoarthritis

Twenty-three randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis comparing the efficacy of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) therapy to placebo in the treatment of patients with knee osteoarthritis. Analyses of both pain and function demonstrated a significant effect of NSAIDs compared to placebo.
