Two hundred and forty-nine patients undergoing unilateral or simultaneous bilateral total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were included in this study to determine whether one-to-one therapy was superior to group-based therapy or monitored home exercise programs for rehabilitation following TKA. One year postoperatively, the results from this study indicated that one-to-one therapy was not significantly superior to group- or home-based exercise programs with respect to all clinical and functional outcomes (i.e. Oxford Knee Score, WOMAC, SF-12, pain, ability to walk and climb stairs, and patient satisfaction).
