Pedicle screw fixation at fractured vertebra vs conventional pedicle screws for thoracolumbar Frx
Int J Surg. 2018 May;53:38-47Eighteen randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis which compared outcomes following treatment of thoracolumbar fractures between pedicle screw fixation at fractured vertebra (AFV) and conventional pedicle screw fixation. Pooled analyses demonstrated significant differences in favour of AFV with respect to postoperative pain scores, postoperative anterior vertebral height and loss of correction over time, Cobb angle, and incidence of implant failure.
