40 male patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) instability who received femoral and tibial 9mm tunnels were randomized to receive either platelet rich plasma (PRP) or control. At a median of 14.7 month follow-up it was found that both groups had significant increments in femoral and tibial tunnel diameter from baseline; however, no significant differences were found between the two groups. With regards to clinical outcomes, no significant differences between groups were found in functional, stability, and pain outcomes.
