
Similar outcomes with video-based and lecture-based education programs for osteoporosis patients

Four hundred and nineteen patients, caregivers or relatives interested in obtaining osteoporosis knowledge were quasi-randomized by date of enrollment to receive a video-based or lecture-based osteoporosis education program. The outcomes of interest included results of a 10 question general osteoporosis knowledge test and patient satisfaction. Test results were assessed immediately after program completion and 3 months post-program. Results revealed no significant difference in test scores between the video-based and lecture-based groups 3 months post-program. Patient satisfaction was similar between the two groups.
