156 patients with Dupuytren contracture of the metacarpophalangeal joint, with or without proximal interphalangeal joint involvement, were randomized to treatment with either collagenase Clostridium histolyticum (CCH) injection or percutaneous needle fasciotomy (PNF). Patients were followed-up for 2 years following treatment. Results demonstrated no significant differences between groups over 2 years in rates of correction of contractures to within 5 degrees in either MCP joints or PIP joints, as well as in rate of recurrence in either MCP joint or PIP joints. Analyses on joint range of motion and patient-reported outcome measures also demonstrated no significant differences between groups throughout follow-up.
