Arch Phys Med Rehabil. 2019 Jan;100(1):101-114.e6.

6 trials were included in this meta-analysis comparing supervised home-based exercise therapy to control groups, which included either usual care strategies or no internvetion, in elderly patients with hip fractures. The outcomes of interest included strength, endurance and gait. Activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental ADLs, mobility and balance were indicated as outcomes of interest, but were not meta-analyzed. The results of the meta-analysis found no significant differences in short term lower extremity strength, comfortable gait speed or endurance between the home-based exercise groups and control groups.
