Tidal irrigation provides longer lasting pain relief than steroid injection in knee OA

150 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomized to receive either tidal irrigation (TI) or intra-articular injection of a corticosteroid (CSIs) for pain relief. Both the tidal irrigation and intra-articular corticosteroid injections led to significant short-term pain relief at 4 weeks. However, the tidal Irrigation provided prolonged symptomatic improvement in patients with the knee osteoarthritis.
