Titanium nitride coating of CoCrMo prostheses doesn’t improve clinical outcome in TKA
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2015 Jun;23(6):1833-40101 patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty were randomized to an uncemented mobile-bearing cobalt-chromium-molybdenum (CoCrMo) total knee prosthesis (TKP), either coated or uncoated with titanium nitride (TiN). The purpose of this study was to determine whether TiN coating of the total knee prosthesis affects the postoperative clinical outcome of total knee arthroscopy (TKA). Findings of this study show that a coating of TiN does not influence in the postoperative clinical outcome of TKA.
