44 frail elderly adults were randomized to treatment either through whole-body vibration (WBV) exercise or a control intervention consisting of usual care, physical therapy, and routine exercises. The effectiveness of each intervention was compared using mobility, balance, and general health outcomes. Over 8 weeks, individuals who underwent whole-body vibration exercise achieved greater and faster improvements in measures of mobility, knee strength, and physical and mental health. Additionally, WBV exercise was demonstrated to be well tolerated.
