Resilience rehab programs improve time to return to work, self-efficacy and stress post trauma

Recovery from physical traumatic injury is complex and multi-dimensional. Rehabilitation must also be similarly multidisciplinary and multimodal. The authors performed a meta-analysis assessing rehabilitation programs aimed at improving resilience, and their effect on return to work, stress, and self-efficacy. From a meta-analysis of 21 studies (11,904 patients), the authors found that resilience programs significantly reduced time to return to work and improved self-efficacy. There was no impact on stress or proportion of those who returned to work.
