EFORT: Peri-articular & intravenous TXA similar for hemostasis in total knee arthroplasty

The purpose of this study was to compare visible postoperative blood loss, hemoglobin drop, transfusion incidence, and the rate of venous thromboembolic (VTE) complications. Hemostatic outcomes were measured at 48 hours postoperatively, and symptomatic VTE was monitored up to 1 month postoperatively. Results demonstrated no significant difference between groups for any of the outcome parameters.
