The impact of additional lateral extra-articular tenodesis to ACL reconstruction
Arthroscopy. 2015 Oct;31(10):2022-34.

29 studies (8 RCTs, 21 non-randomized) comparing the efficacy of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction performed in conjunction with lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET) to the conventional ACL reconstruction procedure for the treatment of ACL rupture were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the addition of LET to standard ACL reconstruction was more effective in restoring the normal kinematics of the knee and reducing rotational laxity when compared to ACL reconstruction alone. The results displayed the combined treatment to be significantly more effective at limiting anterolateral rotation, as measured subjectively via the pivot shift test, while having no influence on KT-1000/2000 measurements and objective International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) scores.
